My Fresible Internship – Vivian Odunayo Ajibola

Odunayo Vivian Ajibola with Professor Ernest Ojukwu SAN at the Fresible Headquaters in August 2017

Article written by Vivian Odunayo Ajibola.

It started as a need to do something useful with my time, pending Law school resumption. During one of those idle July days, I came across a post on Instagram! Fresible had an opening for Law interns!

Prior to the post, I was conversant with the activities of the firm. Fresible was responsible for hosting the best events in my university (Afe Babalola University). Whenever I came across the name ‘Fresible’, fun came to mind. Therefore, I applied for the position with an open mind

Mind you, Fresible is a Creative Digital Agency, responsible for designing and building websites, developing digital marketing strategies for clients, graphics design, organizing events and running Law Repository. The team consists of coders, graphic designers, marketers, website designers and lawyers.

I got the job! These involved seven (7) working hours, during which I partook in writing articles, researching, reviewing law reports, etc. As a law intern, I had the privilege to work on Law Repository, which is a website system for lawyers who want to upgrade their legal practice by using 21st century tools to soar ahead of their peers.

At Fresible, I worked with a team of young and vibrant individuals, who always put their best efforts when performing duties assigned. There was no excuse for inefficiency considering the fact that there was no grumpy boss. The ambience was perfect for selfless dedication.

No one deserves to work in a tense environment and Fresible definitely understands that.

I must confess, waking up early on a daily basis to go prepare for work was a struggle, but then I had the thought of the day’s prospect as a comfort. Fresible was a drive to explore my abilities, for instance, I realised I have a flare for writing!

Highlights of my experience;

  • The People; there was a peculiar bond between the team, we worked as friends.
  • Our conversations; amidst working there was always something intriguing to discuss. From politics, religion, social media, relationships

The team consists of great minds. Brainstorming is the trend.

  • Food chronicles; the key words are Underground and Honey food.
  • Movie time, TGIF, photo sessions and the serenity of the Blue Room.
  • Fresible hosted a legal luminary, Professor Ernest Ojukwu SAN, It is a privilege to have made his acquaintance.
  • Doing my job!

In a short while, I gained the best work family one can ask for and also realised that there’s always an interesting way to be productive. I cannot overemphasise the value of a friendly team; this is one of the most important aids to successful teamwork.

Then came the end of my stay, I couldn’t imagine the following weeks away from work, but with the assurance of being a part of something big, I relived the privilege.

I became a Legal Blogger.

We’re on the lookout for someone who fits our culture as well as the job, and who is just as enthusiastic about working here as we are. Use your application to show us why you’re choosing Fresible. Do your research on the company, take our product for a test spin, and always be yourself.
Resume & Motivation letter
Your resume looks its best when it has perfect grammar, name and contact details, chronological job history, brief descriptions of your previous work and relevant achievements. We look for a well-structured document that gets the message across in a concise way. Your resume should be a snippet of your complete profile, not a full list of everything you’ve ever done. Use it to highlight links to your online profiles, such as LinkedIn, personal website, blog, or social media. Job application magic happens when you build a credible digital narrative foundation, using relevant channels. Use the motivation letter to make your reason for applying crystal clear. Our recruiters want to learn how your background fits the open position and what makes you, you. Tailor your motivation to the job requirements and explain in detail how your passion, drive and enthusiasm make you the right person for the job.
Interview
Ace your interview by coming prepared and being yourself. We’re excited to get to know you, which is why “I don’t know” is a perfectly acceptable answer to a question if it’s the truth. We’d rather you be honest than stumble over words. Before the interview, read up on our company, our values and check out our blogs. Show us why Fresible should be your next career destination and don’t hide your enthusiasm. Interviews at Fresible are conversations, so relax and let’s get to know each other.

6 Ways to Stay Creative

Creative is not something one can find “just around the corner”. Creativity, like anything else, needs efforts. Creativity is something that makes our life colorful and bright. Though there is a little bit of problem, which is that, in today’s busy “rat-race everywhere” world it can be a little hard to keep up with creativity. You may have noticed that something inspires you (in the terms of creativity of course) and you try to indulge in some activity, but for some reasons you cannot complete it, be it maintaining a scrapbook or redecorating your home. You seem to have lost the touch (*or so you think*) or run out of ideas.

Here are some tips to solve the problems you face while staying creative:

notebook

If you carry a notebook with you at all times (except in parties and stuff) then you have a benefit at your hands; as soon as an idea pops up in your head you can just scribble it down. Later when you read that notebook (maybe at the end of the day) you will be surprised at the amount of ideas your brain churns out. Just follow whichever one you like.

#2  Read a good book

And I emphasize on a really good one. You never know what it stores for you, maybe a really good creative idea!

#3  Listen to your favorite song

headphone

Well you know that music relaxes minds. What if I told you your favorite music might help you in staying creative. If you are feeling like you are low on creative ideas, then just turn on your favorite music and see how your mind works.

#4  Go for a walk

No, I am not asking you to exercise (but what harm can a little walk do?). Creative ideas need fresh air, and greenery and all things natural. Where can one get all these but during a walk?

#5  Make a list of your favorite things

list

Yeah, do that! Favorite things are always behind inspirations. Favorite people too. ( :D )

#6  Look through some old photo albums

photo album

Who knows what or which memory might trigger the creative blast.

#7  Try out a new food

Anything new is good. If you cannot get any new ideas regarding your creative project, go out and try a new restaurant and food, or maybe just try making some.
