At Fresible Music, we understand how exciting it is to release your music across major platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. So, when your release gets blocked from these content recognition stores, it can be confusing and frustrating.
Don’t worry — we’re here to break down the common reasons why this might happen and how you can avoid it moving forward.
🚫 Common Reasons Your Track Might Be Blocked
1. Use of Non-Exclusive Samples
Even if the sample is royalty-free or purchased legally, if it’s not exclusive to you, it may be flagged. Content recognition systems (like YouTube’s Content ID) compare your audio to a vast database of existing uploads. If your track contains commonly used samples, it could trigger a false match.
Common non-exclusive sample sources include:
- Splice
- Cymatics
- Looperman
- Creative Commons or public domain content
- Royalty-free/leased beats or backing tracks
These sounds are widely available and may already appear in other artists’ songs, which causes confusion for automated systems.
2. Audio That Confuses Recognition Systems
Certain types of sounds can trip up recognition software, even if you created them yourself:
- Nature sounds (rain, ocean waves, birds)
- White noise or static
- AI-generated vocals or Vocaloid content
These elements make it harder for systems to determine whether your content is original or reused.
3. Prohibited Content Types
Regardless of whether you have the rights or not, Content ID platforms won’t accept the following:
- Remixes of other artists’ tracks
- Albums of already-released songs
- Public domain covers (e.g., folk songs or old jazz classics)
- Meditation, ambient soundscapes, or nature sounds
- Karaoke versions or instrumental covers
- DJ mixes or continuous mix sets
- Production-style music (made for background use in video, film, etc.)
- These policies come directly from the platforms and are not open for dispute.
✅ Where Will Your Release Still Be Available?
If your content isn’t eligible for Content ID platforms, don’t worry — your release can still go live on other major stores such as:
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- Deezer
- Boomplay
And many more…
You’ll still reach your audience and grow your presence across top streaming platforms!
